Nice bike... just what I'm looking for for my son. I just don't have the funds right now... in a month or two perhaps.

Are these still available, and are you in Ottawa? If you are in Ottawa, could I come and take a look at them?

Some great trails here, nice and rocky and strewn with roots... basically, a technical singletrack heaven.

SWEET!!!!! I haven't seen a Shimano Sharkfin in for ever! I used to put one on every bike I owned... until I couldn't find them any more.

Svard75, what's your opinion... should I leave the shock boots on, or remove them? I'm kind of thinking that they detract a bit, and that I should perhaps show a bit more silver on the front.

I know what you mean... I just love the way that they ride. This one in particular isn't as old as I typically prefer, so I'm still getting used to the geometry, figuring out how to tweek my preferred setup so that it rides and feels the way it to. I'm going to try a shorter stem ( 130mm reach, 0 degree rise ), as the current 150mm stem is just a tad too long.

Yes I did. This frame and fork were both ready to roll for a full disk set up... minus the wheelset. It just didn't come spec'd with them. It's a bit of a "frankenbike" right now with the current wheelset, but that will eventually change once I've decided what rims I want to replace the pictured ones with.

Is this the beginnings of a table-top to replace the aging A-frame?

Sadly... no. A bike theif relieved me of it back in Victoria BC. It was locked to the bike rack on my car when I stopped at a friends place on the way home from a ride. I came back to my car to find the entire rack gone. Frown

Kryptonite locks did nothing to discourage bike thieves, I lost two bikes that I thought were "safe", as I had secured them with a Kryptonite lock ( the model down from the NYC model ).

No, I'm pretty sure that the holes were there simply to remove unneeded material to save on weight. As for the design, this is one of my favorite suspension styles for riding XC. A few small changes have been made over the years, but I figure that most are to compensate for the changes in geometry.

I wish, but sadly no. A bike thief back in Victoria relieved me of it when I made a brief pit stop at a friends place on my way from a ride. Even though it was locked to the bike rack on my car, it wasn't enough to deter the thief as the entire rack was removed from my car.

That's why I've now got my K2 Attack... similar style suspension. It's just taking me a lot longer to upgrade the parts and components.

Save for the colours and the company name... they are identical. One says Kona and has a black powder coated front triangle, the other says Concorde and has a polished front triangle. Both bikes came spec with a coil-over Noleen rear shock. I know this, because I checked! Wink

I really wanted the Kona, but I preferred the look of the Concordes polished aluminum front triangle.
